Claude Balzac Mix Tapes/Bio
Claude Balzac came into being when a reclusive vinyl collector/downtempo producer called Nominal I, was coaxed into getting behind the decks to rock a few Seattle area dance parties in late 2006/early 2007. After killing a few dance floors, Nominal was hooked! But he decided he needed a crazy french alter ego to help him let go his more mellow musical tendencies and to fully embrace the life style of super star DJ, party rocking mayhem. Balzac had a proper coming out party at a Fourthcity laptop battle in April 2007.
From there, the legend started to grow. Balzac teamed up with Trashy Trash DJs founder Dan “Same DNA” Ames and has helped take the crew’s parties to new heights. He has also turned in some outstanding performances at finer venues and festivals all around the North West.
Early on, Balzac was pigeon holed as an electro house DJ. But his style has developed into something much more unique and diverse. His sets incorporate a wide variety of dance music genres, ranging from the aforementioned electro house to East Coast/Baltimore Club, New Disco, Techno, Progressive, UK Funky and just about anything with a dirty low end that will make people move. Balzac’s overriding principle as a DJ is to understand his crowd and to take them where they need to go, if not beyond.
