He is apparently the king of Electro/Rock/Techno in Buenos Aires (I am listening to this right now and although I’ve never been to BA, I believe it!) His own bad ass remix of   Can’t Get Enough by Autokratz is smack dab in the middle of the mix.

I want to go to Argentina now more than ever. Let’s see if I can’t make this happen soon. I mean look, DJs can still smoke on stage there.

Hello friends! Trashy Trash cordially invites you to our first event back at The Sunset Tavern in beautiful Ballard, Washington. After many, many thankless years of research, our award winning team of scientists, beerstronauts, chemists, djs, soundboys and inebriation enthusiasts have determined one truth we hold as self evident. All the promotion, booze, smoke, mirrors and music of an event are merely the catalyst to what really makes or breaks the event: the crowd itself. Therefore we have come up with a whole new dance party experience that promotes crowd interactivity, the Choose Your Own Adventure series!

The premise is simple: unlike your average dj event, YOU, the attendee will assume the role of the protagonist. YOUR decisions will determine the dj’s response to an onslaught of musical challenges, all the while developing and expanding the plot in a live setting. YOU make the choice! YOU decide how the night’s events will unfold. YOU will dance yo motherfuggin ass off.

Here’s how it works: every half hour or so, the dj will be stopped. Two new records will be put on the decks, each one of completely different style and substance. Each song will be played for ten seconds, our top secret guest MC will then ask the audience to make some noise for the song they want to hear most. The song that gets the most love from YOU will set the pace for the next direction that our adventure follows. It’s as easy as that. Get your game on! The possibilities of multiple endings are as limited only as your imagination.

Here’s what to expect: YOU getting a discount at the front door if you are dressed up in your favorite adventure/ridiculous/retarded fantasy gear. YOU being amazed at Clark’s XXXmas Corner, where ALL your XXXmas dreams come true. YOU drinkin too damn much and callin in late to work the next day cuz work is LAME and it’s actually sunny out. All that, and a few more strange surprises as well….

SNAP! 90s Dance Party is Saturday June 6 at Lo Fi Performance Gallery. It is a shared feeling amongst the Trashy Trash crew that Mad Max was born to play this night. When we were all in Portland last month checking out SNAP down there, Max confessed he’d been waiting for a party like this ever since the 90s ended. Mad Max, The Man/The Myth! The veteran Seattle DJ/Producer/Crazy wicked graphic designer is  getting ready to put out an album on Fourthcity but it’s taking him a while to select all the tracks. That’s because he has like thousands of really really nice cuts to choose from. I’m serious. His output is prolific. If you know Max and don’t see him for a couple weeks it’s because he’s been at home, hard at work making like 20 or 30 new hip hop instrumentals and he doesn’t have time for you because you are not a fresh sample from a thrift store record you only wish you had heard of and owned before Max. But, when you do run into him, he is always happy to give you a homemade CD of why you haven’t seen him round for a while (my desk is littered with them).  His style has developed into something quite timeless and unique over the years and a growing number of Seattle beat heads are starting to wake up to this dude’s talent. 

I was stoked to hear Max was going to put out a CD he didn’t burn himself at home so I asked if he would slam together some of his favorite beats into a little promo mix I could put on my blog. And now, without further ado, I give you the Mad Max Mega Mix…

I’d like to be able to say this recipe came to me in a dream  because that’s how it tastes and it makes you feel dreamy too. But no. It came to me last Thursday night while sipping a fancy vodka martini of good but lesser quality. And I was like, this is good but I can totally take this to the next level and I can make all the different boozes be from France! 

It’s equal parts Grey Goose Vodka and Green Chartreuse STIRRED! (don’t go all stupid “shaken not stirred” on this drink. Good martinis are stirred.) Strain into a cocktail glass, add a healthy splash of champagne and garnish with a twist of lime.

Here is a picture of a beautiful Claude Balzac Official Cocktail taken with a shitty phone camera. But don’t be fooled! This shit is decadent.  Ask for it by name. Thank me later for inventing the best drink you’ve ever had. It will make you feel so superior to all those around you not drinking Claude Balzacs that you will be tempted to spit some of your drink on them. But don’t waste it. Those unsophisticated miserable pissant Americans are not worth it. Just snatch their Jager Bombs from them and throw them back in their faces. There, that’s better.
